Timber supplies - From beams and lintles to seasoned slabs and cladding. Custom sizes you can not buy off the shelf. We also keep standard sized gates in stock made right here.
Firewood - we sell our offcuts from the sawmill and joiners shop for firewood, as these are offcuts you can be sure that it is sustainable as carbon is captured in the timber not sold for firwood
Sawmilling - our sawmills are mobile so we are able to bring it to you, and mill your own trees into timber and advise you best how to stack and season. Our sawmill can cut logs up to 5 ft wide and 7 meters long!
Machining timber - having a joiners shop means we plane your rough sawn timber (or timber you buy from us) square and add a tongue and groove for flooring, we can add mortice and tendons or flatten wide slabs.
Built in furniture - From kitchens to wardrobes, bookcases and desks. We have made it all and can even make it out of your own timber we milled for you.
Outdoor structures - oak framed porches, pergolas and garden arches have become more and more popular lately with our customers and do not forget we can use your own trees! Which is exactly what we did for this customer who wanted a 3 bay carport made from there own cedar logs
Garden furniture - our large slab tables and benches have proven to be very popular recently in which the tabletop is made from one single piece of wood, made to your required length
Timber framed 3 bay carport
This carport was made from western red cedar logs which stood in the same spot that the carport is built now! As these trees were coming down anyway it seemed silly not to use them, the face frame was morticed and tendon and clad in waney edged boards from the same logs. The doors were planed, tongue and grooved. Using the customers own timber will result in a saving for the customer as well as a sentimental connection to the timber and structure.
This built in desk / book case / home office was made using a single oak slab for the worktop milled from a windblown tree. Made to fit around pipes, fuse boxes and wonky walls.
Free standing oak larder cupboard
With diamond holes for ventilation along with spice racks on the doors and baskets. We do a lot of freestanding furniture as it represents a saving compared to built in furniture
Garden table and benches. This table was made and milled from a customer coastal redwood tree which was condemned as it towered the customers house. We collected to log as it was unsuitable to mill where it was as well as needing the timber in the workshop in order to make the table. Once milled we started work on the table which meant the timber was green (un seasoned). Using green timber is perfectly fine so long as wood movement is considered. Wood will shrink and cup in a predictable way we join the table top down in such a way that it can not cup or warp but can still expand and contract.one finished we delivered the table and benches back to the customer along with extra timber leftover.
